Palma Airport Terminals

Know Before You Fly

After you’ve enjoyed your vacation on the island of Mallorca, you will likely head home by flying to your country from Palma Airport. It’s conveniently located just a drive away from popular destinations like Alcudia, Magaulf and Palma, and as you’d expect from a busy international airport it has a good range of services, amenities and other features for passengers.

There are three floors to the airport terminal building; the ground floor is where you will be after your flight to Mallorca lands, and here you’ll find the baggage collection area and arrivals. On the first and second floors of the airport you can buy flight tickets and check in for your flight. The third and fourth floors of the airport are where you’ll go to be processed through security before you can have access to four individual boarding areas of the airport known as modules.

Palma Airport’s passenger modules

Modules A B C E

The airport consists on a single passenger terminal that is divided into four divisions known as modules named from A to D, which were previously four separate smaller terminals.

Module A

Located at the airport’s north end, this terminal is for flights to the United Kingdom, Ireland and countries that are outside of the Schengen Area of 27 counties that don’t have passport control.
The boarding area for this module is on the terminal’s ground floor and includes gates A1 through A28, with various shops, financial services and other features nearby.

This terminal is only in use during the peak tourism season, which occurs during the summer months, and you’ll find that it closed and out of use during the quieter winter months.

Module B

This terminal module consists of gates B30 through B37, making it the smallest of the four modules, and you can find it on the ground floor of the airport’s northeast section.

Almost all of the flights that use this terminal are operated by Air Nostrum, which is a regional air carrier with connections to Asturias, Ibiza, Lleida, Menorca, Valencia and other destinations.

Module C

Found in the eastern part of the airport terminal, this module has the most gates with 33 boarding areas ranging from gate C38 through to C73.

The flights that use this module for departures are mostly operated by airlines that include Condor, Schengen Area flights by EasyJet and also Norwegian Air Shuttle.

Module D

You can find this module on the first floor in the south of the airport terminal building, and you’ll fly out of this section if your boarding gate is listed as being within D88 through D99.

The vast majority of flights that depart from this module are operated by Air Berlin.

Main Terminal Services

Regardless of which module of the terminal you are using for your flight home, you can find the follow services and other features available throughout the airport:

  • Duty free shopping
  • Food and drink options
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Foreign currency exchange
  • ATMs
  • Children’s playing areas
  • Baby care facilities
  • Lost and found division
  • Information desk
  • Medical center

Terminal Lounges

Using a passenger lounge can be a great way to relax before your flight, because these venues typically offer more comfortable furniture than you might find at the boarding gates, and you can also enjoy free food and drink, reading materials, televisions and more. This can help to remove any stress before your flight and ensure that you have a peaceful flight back home.

There are four passenger lounges available at Palma Airport, and you can buy a one-day entrance to any of the lounges that will let you use the services for a few hours before your flight. Note that you must be able to show your identification and ticket for a flight departing that day in order to be allowed to purchase your one-off pass for using the lounge.

Sala VIP Formentor: You can find this lounge on the fourth floor of the airport terminal in the departures area, and it offers a range of items to eat and drink and other amenities.

Sala VIP Llevant: This lounge is only open between 5am and midnight and is located in the main area of the terminal building, offering free Wi-Fi, drinks, snacks and other perks.

Sala VIP Mediterraneo: You’ll find this lounge in the airport’s Module C, which makes it a perfect choice for anyone who has a ticket for a flight departing from one of this module’s gates.

Sala VIP Valldemossa: Located in the Module B part of the airport near the gate boarding sections, this lounge has the usual benefits of free food, drinks, Wi-Fi and other amenities

for your flight. The third and fourth floors of the airport are where you’ll go to be processed through security before you can have access to four individual boarding areas of the airport known as modules.
