Know Before You Fly

If you are traveling to or from Majorca, one of the Balearic Islands near Spain, then it’s very likely that your trip will include a flight in or out of Palma Airport. And during this journey you might find that you need somewhere to store your suitcases or other type of luggage.

Unfortunately, Palma Airport does not have a dedicated left luggage facility that provides around-the-clock services for storing all types of baggage for a few hours or longer.

The reason behind the lack of a left luggage service at the airport is because of the coronavirus pandemic that started in 2020. Just before the pandemic began, in January that year the airport announced that it had opened a place for passengers to store luggage. But then the pandemic resulted in a massive drop in the number of fliers coming to and from the airport, and the left luggage area was then closed, and there are not currently any plans for it to reopen.

The left luggage office still remains and you can see this now-vacant location on the second level of the departures area of the main airport terminal building, but it is closed.

Therefore, one good option for storing some luggage for a few hours on the day of your flight either arriving or landing is to use some similar services available in the city of Palma.

The best location for this services is by Paseo del Borne, which is in the old part of the city and is a short walk from the cathedral, and with low prices for short-term luggage storage. Prices are charged for every day of storage, even if you only use the service for a couple of hours one day. The cost is €5 for every regular suitcase and €10 for an oversized suitcase.

If you would like to use this left luggage facility then the opening hours are from 9.30am through to 8pm, but beware you will not be able to get access to your bags outside of these hours.

Left luggage service available at Palma Intermodal Station

Another option for storying your luggage either after or before your flight from Palma Airport is using a service available at Palma Intermodal Station, where you can catch buses or take the Metro light rail system to various locations within the city and also beyond.

You can find the Palma Intermodal Station centrally located in the city at the Plaça d’Espanya. Once you arrive just follow the signs leading you indoors to the left luggage area, and then you will hand over your bags and they will be stored in a locker for however long you need.

The cost for using this service varies depending on which type of luggage locker you’re going to use, with the cheapest being medium lockers at €4.95, followed by large lockers at €8.95 and finally extra-large lockers that cost €12.95, with each price charged per day.

Opening hours for this service are from 5.30am through to 1.30am every day of the week, but you will not be able to retrieve your luggage outside of these times.
